Step-by-step instructions on how to operate an ADA Lift Rentals of America wheelchair lift.
Calling the lift cab to your location:
If you’re on the upper floor, press and hold the up button until the lift comes to a complete stop.
If you’re on the ground floor, press and hold the down button until the lift comes to a complete stop.
Unlocking the door:
If you’re on the upper floor, press the up button until you hear a click and the door unlocks.
If you’re on the ground floor, press the down button until you hear a click and the door unlocks.
Using the ADA wheelchair lift:
Once you enter the lift, close the gate/door behind you. Press and hold the up or down button depending on which direction you are headed.
NOTE:
The button must be continually pressed until the cab comes to a complete stop.
Release the button and push the gate/door open to exit the lift.
If the gate/door does not open, push the up button if you are on the 2nd floor or down if you’re on the 1st floor to release the lock and exit the lift.
NOTE:
For safety, the door will automatically lock after 15 seconds of inactivity.
If there is an issue, please remain calm, and don’t panic. An attendant or technician is nearby and will assist you.
