How to Operate an ADA Lift Rental Wheelchair Lift

Step-by-step instructions on how to operate an ADA Lift Rentals of America wheelchair lift.

Calling the lift cab to your location:

If you’re on the upper floor‭, ‬press and hold the up button until the lift comes to a complete stop‭.‬

If you’re on the ground floor‭, ‬press and hold the down button until the lift comes to a complete stop‭.‬

Unlocking the door:

If you’re on the upper floor‭, ‬press the up button until you hear a click and the door unlocks‭.‬

If you’re on the ground floor‭, ‬press the down button until you hear a click and the door unlocks‭.‬

Using the ADA wheelchair lift:

Once you enter the lift‭, ‬close the gate/door behind you‭. ‬Press and hold the up or down button depending on which direction you are headed‭. ‬

NOTE‭:‬‭
‬The button must be continually pressed until the cab comes to a complete stop‭.‬
Release the button and push the gate/door open to exit the lift‭.‬

If the gate/door does not open‭, ‬push the up button if you are on the 2nd floor or down if you’re on‭ ‬the 1st floor to release the lock and exit the lift‭.‬

NOTE‭:‬‭
‬For safety‭, ‬the door will automatically lock after 15‭ ‬seconds of inactivity‭.‬
If there is an issue‭, ‬please remain calm‭, ‬and don’t panic‭. ‬An attendant or technician is nearby and will‭ ‬assist you‭.‬
